Harbortouch remains part of the Shift4 restaurant technology ecosystem, but Harbortouch Hospitality and Shift4 Dine are not simply two names for the same POS software. Shift4 currently categorizes Harbortouch Hospitality as a legacy POS solution, while Shift4 Dine is the company’s current restaurant POS platform.
Existing Harbortouch merchants may still have access to supported integrations, back-office tools, and other Shift4 services depending on their software version and configuration. Some Harbortouch Hospitality integrations require an additional connection component to communicate with Shift4 Customer Hub, while Shift4 Dine connects to Customer Hub natively.
If you are deciding whether to keep your current Harbortouch setup or move to a newer restaurant POS environment, the important questions are your hardware needs, integrations, online ordering, payment setup, ongoing costs, and how much of your existing restaurant configuration can be carried into the new system.
