About the Gift Cards

Shift4 Gift Cards give restaurants a connected way to sell, manage, and redeem both physical gift cards and eGift cards within the broader Shift4 Dine environment. Operators can configure the program through the Customer Hub, manage available card options, and give customers access to a branded online gift card shop. This makes the gift card program useful for restaurants that want to offer prepaid value without relying on a separate manual system for card sales, balances, and redemption.

The Shift4Gift setup supports both physical and digital gift card formats. Customers can purchase available card types through the restaurant’s gift card shop, while operators can manage shop settings such as the business name, logo, card imagery, and color scheme. eGift cards can also be reloaded through the storefront, allowing customers to add funds to an existing card instead of purchasing a new one each time. Physical gift cards and eGift cards remain part of the same overall gift card program managed through Shift4 Dine Customer Hub.

For day-to-day management, the Customer Hub provides gift card reporting that helps restaurants review balances and transaction activity. Available reports include gift card balances, transaction summaries, transaction details, and, for linked multi-location programs, cross-usage reporting. Operators can use these reports to see cards sold, amounts redeemed, remaining balances, transaction history, and other activity connected with the program. Reports can also be exported when deeper review or reconciliation is needed.

Shift4 Gift Cards can also support restaurant groups with more than one participating location. Shift4 allows eligible merchant locations to be linked so gift cards may be used across those locations, while reporting can help track where cards were sold and redeemed. Customer service in general is very caring and professional. The system is easy to operate with. The online gift cards purchase isn’t user friendly, called service team several times, not so much improvement has been made. Hopefully in the future they may solve the problem.

It has all of the modern equipment and convenience features we wanted at a better price point than most others out there. The 3 restaurants are all different so it’s nice to be able customize the set up to fit each one’s unique needs. Very user friendly interface on POS, handhelds, and back office log in. We like accepting Apple Pay and Online Orders directly through the system. The POS itself is very easy to use. The guys at Harbortouch POS of Boston showed us great support since the installation.
